The Power of the Enneagram: Act with Discernment
Do you wish to develop and optimize your skills?
The Enneagram offers clear reference points to address these questions. It helps build trust and raise professionalism in human relationships. With the Enneagram, you will learn to channel your energy and become more effective, productive, and proactive in your personal and professional spheres.
The Enneagram helps answer questions such as:
• What motivates your actions?
• How do others perceive you?
• How can you better manage stress, sadness, fear, or anger?
• How can you act from your strengths as well as your weaknesses?
Over the centuries, the Enneagram (from the Greek ennea: “nine” and gramma: “writing” / “symbol”) has taken shape through the observation of human behavior. As a symbolic image of our psychological and spiritual evolution, it represents nine personality types—or nine “tendencies”—that coexist within each of us and influence our personality.
Initially transmitted orally and in secret, the Enneagram was developed by the Sufis. In the 20th century it was introduced to the West by George Gurdjieff (1872–1949), a spiritual teacher who used it to help his students better understand their personality and path of growth.
In the 1960s, psychologist Oscar Ichazo and Chilean psychiatrist Claudio Naranjo adapted it to contemporary psychology. Over the last decade, the Enneagram has become a valued tool not only in psychotherapy but also in human resources management within organizations.
